What Is a QR Code?
A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional barcode that smartphones can scan using their built-in camera app. Unlike traditional barcodes that store only a product number, QR codes can contain URLs, contact details, WiFi credentials, email addresses, and more — all retrievable in under a second.

Types of QR Codes You Can Create
URL QR Code
The most common type. Scan it and your phone opens a website. Perfect for business cards, posters, flyers, and product packaging. The link can point to anything — a homepage, a landing page, an app store listing, or a social media profile.
WiFi QR Code
Encode your WiFi network name and password into a QR code. Guests scan it and their phone connects automatically — no typing a long password. Ideal for cafes, hotels, offices, and Airbnb properties.
vCard QR Code
A digital business card. Encode your name, phone number, email, company, and website. When scanned, the contact information is added directly to the person's phone contacts — no manual entry needed.
Email QR Code
Scanning opens a pre-filled email with your chosen recipient, subject, and body text. Great for feedback forms, support requests, and event registrations.
SMS QR Code
Opens a pre-filled text message. Useful for text-to-join marketing campaigns, customer support, or appointment booking systems.
Phone QR Code
Dials a phone number immediately on scan. Perfect for business cards and advertisements where you want people to call with one tap.
Text QR Code
Stores any plain text. Use for short notes, coupons, event details, or any information you want to share offline.
QR Code Best Practices
- Test before printing — Always scan your QR code on multiple devices before printing it on materials. A broken QR code on 10,000 flyers is an expensive mistake.
- Size matters — For print, download the 400px version at minimum. For A4 or larger, use higher resolution. The minimum printable size is about 2cm × 2cm.
- High contrast colours — Dark foreground on light background works best. Avoid low-contrast combinations that cameras struggle to read.
- Add a call to action — Print "Scan to connect" or "Scan for menu" next to your QR code. People are more likely to scan if they know what they will get.
- Leave quiet zone — Keep white space around the QR code. Our generator adds this automatically.
