What does this score measure?

Your privacy score combines 8 checks that reveal how much information your browser exposes to websites you visit. A score of 100 means fully protected. Below 50 means you are likely being tracked without knowing it.

Run the test with and without your VPN to see exactly what it protects — and what it misses.

🔒 100% private — this privacy check runs entirely in your browser. We don’t log, store, or share your results.

How to improve your score

Use a VPN — hides your IP and routes DNS through an encrypted tunnel. Test it with DNS Leak Test and WebRTC Leak Test.

Use Brave or Firefox — both have built-in fingerprint protection. Strip referrer headers us

How the Browser Privacy Test Works

This browser privacy test checks the signals that websites and trackers can read about you the moment you land on a page — without asking permission. It looks at whether your browser exposes a unique fingerprint, whether Do Not Track is set, whether third-party cookies are allowed, whether your real IP can leak, and more. Each signal is scored, and the combined result is your privacy score out of 100. A higher score means fewer ways for sites to identify and follow you across the web.

The whole test runs in your browser in a few seconds — nothing is uploaded, and you can re-run it any time after changing a setting to see your score improve live.

Chrome Browser Privacy Test: What to Check

Chrome is the most common browser and, out of the box, one of the least private — so it’s worth testing carefully. If your score is low in Chrome, the highest-impact fixes are:

  • Block third-party cookies: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → "Block third-party cookies".
  • Turn on "Send a Do Not Track request".
  • Add a privacy extension like uBlock Origin to cut trackers and fingerprinting scripts.
  • Consider a hardened browser (Brave or Firefox) if you want stronger defaults — re-run this test in each to compare scores directly.

Free Online Privacy Check — No Download, No Sign-Up

This is a completely free, online privacy test — there’s nothing to install and no account to create. Because it runs client-side, it also doubles as an honest audit: we can’t see your results, so there’s no reason to inflate your score. Use it as a quick monthly check-up, or right after you change a browser setting, switch browsers, or connect a VPN, to confirm the change actually improved your privacy.

What a Low Privacy Score Really Means

A low score doesn’t mean you’ve been hacked — it means your browser is easy to identify and track. The most common culprits are a highly unique fingerprint (unusual fonts, screen size, or extensions), third-party cookies left enabled, and an IP address that’s exposed even behind a VPN. Work through the improvements above, re-test, and you’ll usually see the score climb quickly. For tracking that follows you between sites via shared links, pair this with a referrer stripper like Anonymiz Dereferer.
