AI Content Detector
Paste any text — article, essay, email, blog post — and instantly see how likely it was written by AI. Get a confidence score with a breakdown of the specific patterns that gave it away.
🧠 Sentence Uniformity
AI tends to write sentences of similar length and structure. Humans naturally vary their rhythm — sometimes long and flowing, sometimes short. Punchy.
🔄 Hedging Language
Phrases like "it's important to note", "in conclusion", "furthermore" and "it is worth mentioning" are strong AI markers. AI over-uses transition phrases.
📊 Perplexity Score
AI-generated text is highly predictable — each word follows logically from the last. We measure how "surprising" your text is; AI text scores very low on perplexity.
💬 Personal Markers
Human writing includes personal anecdotes, contractions, informal language, typos and opinions. AI writing tends to be formal, generic and impersonal.
📝 Vocabulary Density
AI reuses the same phrases and avoids true synonyms. Humans have a richer, less uniform vocabulary — type-token ratio analysis catches this.
🎯 Burstiness
Humans write in bursts — complex sentences followed by simple ones. AI produces consistently "medium" complexity throughout, a telltale signature.
How accurate is this detector?
Our detector is highly accurate for clearly AI-generated or clearly human-written text. Lightly edited AI text or heavily edited AI text is harder to classify — the score reflects this uncertainty. No AI detector achieves 100% accuracy; use this as one signal, not a definitive verdict.
Which AI models does it detect?
It detects patterns common to all major LLMs — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, Copilot and others. The patterns (uniformity, hedging language, low burstiness) are model-agnostic since all LLMs are trained similarly.
Will it flag my writing as AI if I write clearly?
Possibly if you write very formally or use common transition phrases. The more personal, varied and anecdote-rich your writing is, the lower the AI score will be. Writers can score lower by adding contractions, varying sentence length and including personal examples.
Can I use this to check student essays?
Yes — this is a common use case. However, treat it as supporting evidence, not proof. A high AI score should prompt a conversation, not an automatic accusation. Always combine with other assessment methods.
Does it work on short texts?
Short texts (under 50 words) are unreliable — there simply isn't enough data to measure statistical patterns accurately. For best results use at least 150–200 words.
Is my text stored or saved?
No — your text is sent to the AI API for analysis and immediately discarded. We do not store, log or train on any text you paste into this tool.
