Sends outbound links through Anonymiz so the sites you link to don't see which page the visitor came from.

== Description ==

When a visitor clicks a link on your site, their browser normally tells the other site which of your pages they came from. That address can reveal private pages, member areas, search terms or other details you would rather keep to yourself.

This plugin rewrites outbound links in your posts, pages, comments and widgets so they pass through Anonymiz, which removes that information before the visitor reaches the other site.

* Links to your own site are never changed.
* You can list domains to leave alone, such as partners or affiliate networks.
* Choose which areas are covered: posts and pages, comment text, commenters' website links and widgets.
* Links are rewritten when the page is displayed. Your saved content is not modified, so deactivating the plugin restores the original links immediately.
* No tracking, no cookies, no account needed.

== External services ==

This plugin changes outbound links so they open through anonymiz.com, a free link anonymizer. When a visitor clicks a rewritten link, their browser loads a page on anonymiz.com, which then forwards them to the original destination. anonymiz.com receives the destination address and the visitor's IP address, as any website does. It does not receive the address of the page on your site where the link was clicked.

The plugin itself sends nothing to anonymiz.com and makes no network requests.

3. Optional: go to Settings > Anonymiz to choose which areas are covered and to exclude domains.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it change my saved posts? =

No. Links are rewritten only when a page is shown to visitors. Deactivate the plugin and every link goes back to how you wrote it.

= Which links are left alone? =

Links to your own site, relative links, anchors, email (mailto) and phone (tel) links, links that already go through Anonymiz, and any domains you list in the settings.

= Does it work with the block editor and page builders? =

It works on the final page HTML produced by the_content, so links added in the block editor and most page builders are covered.
